Your Support Coach

Ellen Smith

For more than 30 years, I worked as a master voice coach, helping singers, public speakers, content creators, and actors of all ages develop vocal skills, breath support, memorization, coordination, and authentic self-expression. I help clients navigate performance vulnerability, build confidence, and grow through practical, personalized guidance.

Today, I bring that same patience, encouragement, and compassionate support to stroke survivors and caregivers working to rebuild communication skills and confidence after stroke.

After my close friend Val had a stroke, my conversations with her revealed an opportunity to help. Recognizing that communication was challenging, I began applying the skills and methods I had developed over decades of voice coaching in a new way that could help my friend. Over time I created a personalized program that significantly improved her communication skills and every day connections. That experience became the foundation of my After Stroke Support Coaching Program.

As a post-stroke Communication Specialist with After Stroke Support, I help survivors continue to make progress after formal therapy ends with the highest level of expertise. For many, this is where the next chapter begins…

The After Stroke Support Coaching program is intended to work alongside, not in place of, your licensed rehabilitation professionals, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, neurologists, and physicians. After Stroke Support does not diagnose medical conditions or offer licensed therapy services. Every recovery journey is unique, and individual results may vary. Please consult your healthcare team regarding medical concerns, treatment decisions, or rehabilitation needs.
